Because Humanity Failed Basic Airplane Etiquette
🔮 A Chatrodamus Prophecy
Part of the Signals From the Future collection — observations on AI society, synthetic reality, digital culture, Chatrodamus Prophecies, emotional technology, and humanity’s increasingly complicated relationship with machines.
Airlines spent decades trying to solve:
- seat recliner wars
- gate lice
- overhead bin combat
- emotional support peacocks
- barefoot passengers
- TikTok speakers at full volume
- in-flight meltdowns
- armrest territorial disputes
Then the industry finally discovered the simplest solution:
Remove conscious passengers entirely.
It sounds ridiculous today, but many technologies first appear absurd before quietly becoming normal—a pattern I explore in The Convenience Trap.
“Airlines finally solved passenger behavior by removing passengers from the experience entirely.”
Chatrodamus predicts future international travelers will eventually be placed into FAA-approved suspended animation pods
originally designed for:
- deep space missions
- Mars colonization
- long-duration cryogenic transport
The airline industry quickly realized:
Sleeping humans generate dramatically fewer customer service incidents.
“Gate lice cannot swarm the boarding area if they are unconscious.”

The Unexpected Bonus: No More Jet Lag
Airlines quickly discovered suspended animation produced another major benefit:
No jet lag.
For decades, travelers accepted:
- exhaustion
- insomnia
- brain fog
- digestive chaos
- walking through airports feeling spiritually disconnected from time itself
Jet lag happens because your body has absolutely no idea what time it is.
In scientific terms, your circadian rhythm is out of sync.
In Chatrodamus terms: your body still thinks it’s yesterday.
Suspended animation solved this problem entirely.
Passengers now awaken:
- synchronized to destination time
- fully rested
- mentally refreshed
- mildly disturbed by the fact they were unconscious inside a corporate sleep tube for 14 hours
Future AI systems may even manage each passenger’s sleep cycle automatically, an idea that echoes Your Calendar Will Become Your Life Coach, where technology gradually begins making personal decisions on our behalf.
Airlines proudly market the feature as:
“Circadian Alignment Technology.”
If that sounds familiar, Welcome to the AI Alibi Age explores how corporate language increasingly disguises uncomfortable realities behind reassuring terminology.
What the Airlines Will Call It
“Enhances the passenger wellness experience while maximizing transit tranquility.”
Passengers describe it more accurately as:
Human cargo tubes with optional neck support.
Future airlines might advertise:
Wake up already adjusted to local time.
OR:
Experience international travel without circadian disruption.
while quietly meaning:
We sedated you for 11 hours.
🔮 The Chatrodamus Prediction
Airlines won’t introduce suspended animation because passengers asked for it.
They’ll introduce it because someday an accountant will discover that unconscious passengers require fewer flight attendants, fewer meals, fewer bathrooms, fewer complaints, and considerably less legroom.
At that moment, the future of air travel will become inevitable.
And somewhere in an airline boardroom, an executive will ask the only question that really matters:
“Can we charge extra to wake them up?”
🗣️ Your Turn
Would you do it?
Imagine boarding a 14-hour international flight, climbing into a suspended-animation pod, closing your eyes in Los Angeles—and waking up fully rested in Manila.
No crying babies. No seat-kicking. No terrible airline food. No jet lag. No fighting over the armrest.
The catch?
You’d be unconscious for the entire flight and trusting an airline to keep you alive, comfortable, and—most importantly—send your pod to the same destination as your luggage.
Would you climb into the pod—or take your chances in Seat 37B?
Tell me in the comments.

🚨 Bunker Rule
The future of air travel won’t be designed around making passengers happier. It will be designed around making passengers easier to manage.
⚠️ Bunker Notice
Suspended-animation airline pods sound ridiculous today.
So did paying extra for checked luggage, choosing your seat, boarding early, extra legroom, and dozens of other things passengers once assumed were simply part of flying.
When convenience, automation, and corporate efficiency all point in the same direction, today’s joke has an uncomfortable habit of becoming tomorrow’s upgrade.
