The Shedeur Saturation Point

I swear every time I open a feed it’s The Shedeur Show again—depth charts, sideline clips, wardrobe, cars, drama, rinse, repeat. Roster shuffles happen every preseason. Being third on a depth chart isn’t a Greek tragedy; it’s football. But you wouldn’t know it from the headline factory.

What’s next—another off-field clip, another “do-you-know-who-I-am” routine at a traffic stop, another news cycle that lasts longer than most drives in the fourth quarter? Outside of Cleveland, who’s losing sleep over this? Answer: nobody with a mortgage and a calendar.

What’s next we asked? Here is a quick update taken from today’s headlines September 26, 2025; An ego that knows no boundaries, “I know if you see the quarterback play in the league right now, I know I’m capable of doing better than that,” Sanders told media. Strong talk from a guy taken in the 99th draft!

Here’s the reality (no sermons):

  • Depth charts aren’t permanent. Earn reps, or don’t. The league doesn’t grade on vibes.
  • PR is part of the job. If off-field headlines keep outrunning on-field plays, you’ve already lost the scoreboard.
  • Fans care about snaps, not snaps on social. A clean third-down read > a flashy third-car garage.

Three paths from here

  1. QB Room Grind: Shut the door, own the scout team, master the install, make tape that coaches can’t ignore.
  2. Grown-up Pivot: Fewer cameras, fewer quotes, fewer lights. More film, more timing, more humility.
  3. The Headline Route: Keep feeding the machine and hope the brand survives the box score. (History says: it won’t.)

Bottom line

Make the throws or make the news. One of those keeps you in the league. The other just keeps you trending. Outside the 216, nobody cares—until you win.

Editor’s note: This is a commentary/rant. Depth-chart moves and off-field stories change fast—scoreboard is the only permanent record.
